Uzbekneftegaz launches 2nd stage of compressor station at Zevarda field

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Mar. 29

By Klavdiya Romakayeva - Trend:

The second stage of the compression station at the Zevarda field located in the Mirishkor district of the Kashkadarya region on Uzbekistan was put into operation, Trend reports referring to the press service of Uzbekneftegaz JSC.

According to the information, the construction work of the project was carried out by Enter Engineering (Singapore). Modern gas turbine equipment and compressors were supplied by Baker Hughes and General Electric (US), Motor Sich (Ukraine), Akcelik (Turkey), and Denair Energy (China). The total cost of the project accounts for $75.8 million.

Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz JSC Mehriddin Abdullayev said that the new compressor station has a capacity to increase the pressure of 3.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year and will ensure the supply of gas to an integrated gas treatment plant for separating liquid components contained in the gas.

“An additional daily production of 1.5 million cubic meters of gas (480 million cubic meters per year) will also be achieved,” he said.

It is reported that stage 2 of this compressor station through two units increases the pressure of low-pressure natural gas on an industrial scale in the wells of the Zevarda field and facilitates transmission to the Zevarda compressor station, thereby increasing the volume of natural gas production.

In addition, in order to ensure the stable operation of the compressor station in 2021, it is necessary to drill an additional nine new wells at the Zevarda field, to build a gas reservoir with a length of 5.2 kilometers. Also, it is planned to produce 2.9 billion cubic meters of natural gas from the field annually.

“As a result of the construction of the facility, the processes of natural gas production at the Zevarda field will be controlled with full automation, which will increase the daily production of natural gas at this field by 1.5 million cubic meters,” the message said.

Uzbekneftegaz also noted that as a result of many years of geological exploration work, Uzbekneftegaz specialists discovered about 305 billion cubic meters of natural gas reserves and more than 18.0 million tons of gas condensate on the territory of the Zevarda field.
