Iranian energy minister talks about water, electricity facilities to be launched

As many as 290 water and electricity facilities will be launched in Iran at a cost of 650 trillion rials (about $15.4 billion) in the current Iranian year (from March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), the Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian said, Trend reports citing the ministry.

He made the remark in an event dedicated to launch of several water and electricity facilities in Iran on Apr. 13.

The minister stressed that of these, 173 facilities will be launched by the end of the current government in Iran (August 6, 2021). A total of 430 trillion rials (about $10.2 billion) have been spent on these facilities.

Ardakanian added that 9 water and electricity facilities at a cost of 34.2 trillion rials (about $816 million) were launched in Iran during this week and last week.

On Apr 13, 5 water and electricity facilities have been launched in 3 provinces of Iran (Khuzestan, Sistan and Baluchestan and Mazandaran provinces) and 20 villages have been supplied with water. A total of 5.14 trillion rials (about $ 122 million) has been spent on these facilities.

Reportedly, 307 water and electricity facilities were put into operation in Iran in the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021). In total, 810 trillion rials (about $19.2 billion) has been spent on all these facilities.
