Georgia has imported 42,970.4 tones of oil worth $20.10 million from Azerbaijan from January through March 2021, Trend reports via the Georgian National Statistics Committee.
As reported, the value of the oil imported from Azerbaijan is 2.2 times or $10.76 million more compared to the same period last year. Thus, Georgia has imported 23,544.9 tons of oil worth $9.24 million in the first three months of 2020.
The volume of Georgia's foreign trade turnover with Azerbaijan amounted to $250.29 million from January through March of this year, which is 13.6 percent or $39.33 million less than in the same period of 2020.
For the same period last year, this figure was $289.63 million.
During the reporting period, Georgia imported goods and products from Azerbaijan for $145.71 million, which is 11.4 percent less in annual comparison. During the reporting period, imports from Azerbaijan amounted to 7.5 percent of Georgia's total imports.
From January through March, Georgia's exports to Azerbaijan amounted to $104.57 million. This is 16.4 percent less than in the same period last year. Exports to Azerbaijan accounted for 12.7 percent of Georgia's total exports.
As a result, in the first quarter of 2021, a negative balance of $41.13 million was formed in the trade turnover of Georgia with Azerbaijan, which is 4.2 percent more in annual terms. For the same period last year, the negative balance amounted to $39.46 million.
