The mentioned issue was discussed during a video conference held between Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and the Chairman of the Board of ACWA Power (Saudi Arabia), co-chairman of the Uzbek-Saudi Joint Business Council, Mohammed Abunayyan.

According to the Ministry, the sides discussed the implementation of current joint projects, as well as prospects for further expanding investment cooperation in the field of alternative energy.

Thus, the progress in the construction of a combined cycle thermal power plant with a capacity of 1,500 MW based on the Syrdarya thermal power plant was discussed, and tasks were set to accelerate the start of construction work for two wind power plants in the Bukhara region with a total capacity of 1 GW.
