Volume of electricity generated at Iran's Rey TPP growing

The volume of electricity generated at the Rey Thermal Power Plant in Tehran Province of Iran increased by 75 percent in the 1st month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2021), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports citing Ministry of Energy of Iran.

According to the report, the thermal power plant generated about 130 million kilowatt-hours of electricity during the first month.

“The necessary repairs have been carried out at the Rey TPP and the power plant is ready for full operation,” the report said.

Reportedly, Iran's Rey Thermal Power Plant has a total of 29 gas turbines and the generation capacity of this power plant is 979.4 megawatt hours. Due to the obsolescence of the equipment in the units of the TPP, only 21 gas units of the power plant are used. The generation capacity of 21 gas units is 754 megawatt-hours.
