As many as 21 facilities worth 61 trillion rials (about $ 1.45 billion) have been put into operation in Iran’s water and electricity sectors since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021) to date, Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian said, Trend reports citing IRINN.
He made the remark in an event dedicated to the launch of water facilities in Iran on Apr. 29.
The minister noted that four water facilities worth 25 trillion rials (about $595 million) were put into operation in Iran's Hormozgan, Mazandaran and Khuzestan provinces today.
Ardakanian added that in total, 83 wastewater filtration centers were put into operation in Iran during the current Iranian government (which has been in power since August 2013).
According to him, the water facilities put into operation today are of great importance. Because this year will be one of the years of drought in Iran.
Reportedly, 25 trillion rials (about $595 million) worth of water facilities were put into operation in Iran on Apr. 29. In addition, the foundation of the Zaremrud dam was laid in Mazandaran Province. The dam will cost 900 billion rials (about $21.4 million).
