Uzbekneftegaz GTL plant plans to start production of high-quality synthetic fuel products from the third quarter of 2021 and supply it to the domestic market of the country for import substitution, Trend reports referring to the press service of Uzbekneftegaz JSC.
According to the information, to date, the main construction and installation work at the construction site of the Uzbekneftegaz GTL plant has been completed, and commissioning is being carried out in stages at an active pace.
It is noted that the project has reached its final stage. More than 96 percent of the total volume of work has been completed. Improvement works are also underway at the construction site.
Currently, more than 500 pieces of equipment are involved in the commissioning work and more than 9,000 people continue their labor activity at the construction site.
It is reported that the GTL plant plans to start production of high-quality synthetic fuel products from the third quarter of 2021 and supply them to the domestic market for import substitution and foreign markets to increase the country's export potential.
In addition, with the launch of the plant, among other things, the production of synthetic kerosene products will begin.
At present, civil aviation is allowed to mix this fuel in a ratio of up to 50 percent with Jet A-1 aviation kerosene, obtained based on petroleum feedstock.
With the commissioning of the Uzbekneftegaz GTL plant, 3.6 billion cubic meters of gas will be processed per year, from which 1.5 million tons of high-quality synthetic liquid fuel, more than 307,000 tons of jet fuel, 724,000 tons of diesel fuel, 437,000 tons of naphtha and 53,000 tons of liquefied gas will be produced.
