Chinese Liaoning Lide company plans to build a $700 million solar power plant in the Fergana region of Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to Uza.uz national news agency.
It is reported that the project for the construction of a large solar power plant with an estimated cost of about $ 700 million, with a capacity of up to 1200 MW was discussed at the meeting of the governor of the Fergana region Khairullo Bazarov with the delegation of the Chinese company Liaoning Lide.
It was noted that the negotiations, which have been going on for several months, are at the final stage. Now the regional administration is conducting final technical studies on the territory provided for the project.
"These works will be completed shortly, after which the exact capacity and cost of the project will be determined. It is envisaged to sign a memorandum between the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan and the Liaoning Lide company," the message said.
The Chinese guests noted that the first renewable energy project, which will be implemented in the Fergana oasis, is planned to attract not bank loans, but direct investments. The delegation also emphasized the readiness to present the most optimal tariffs of National power grids of Uzbekistan JSC for the purchase of generated electricity for a period of 25 years.
