Turkmenistan's Turkmenbashi Oil Refinery to buy oil from foreign companies

Turkmenistan’s Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries will acquire up to 500,000 tons of oil during 2021, Trend reports with reference to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

The plant can purchase oil from foreign companies operating in the country on the basis of Production Sharing Agreements.

Turkmenistan's Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries develops its industrial potential, transport infrastructure and increases energy exports.

The complex produces unleaded gasoline, aviation and technical kerosene, jet and diesel fuel, fuel oil, lubricating oils, polypropylene, furnace fuel, light gas oil, petroleum electrode coke, liquefied gas, construction and road bitumen, synthetic detergents and others.

The plant's products are in demand on the international market and are necessary for other sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan. So, the products of the company exported to Russia, Germany, Spain, Italy, Japan, China, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan and other countries.

In particular, the products of the refinery are in great demand at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan.

At the same time, production at the enterprise is steadily growing. The production plan of liquefied gas in the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries of Turkmenistan has been exceeded by 17 percent from the beginning of the year till early May.

During this period, 12,389 tons of liquefied gas were produced and sent to consumers in the complex, which is more than the planned figure by 1,825 tons.

Also, the construction of the third oil loading berth at the Kenar enterprise for the storage and shipment of petroleum products of the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries is underway in Turkmenistan.

In the near future, a number of new technological installations are planned to be built at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries.

Thus, priority attention will be paid to increasing the volume of crude oil supplies to the petrochemical sector, ensuring timely shipment of products to domestic and foreign consumers.

In addition, Turkmenistan's Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries intends to launch the production of Jet A-1 aviation fuel, which is the European equivalent of TS-1 aviation fuel (main jet fuel grade available in Russia, CIS states).

Jet A-1 undergoes additional hydrotreatment, it contains antistatic and stabilizing additives, it is environmentally safer, and the flashpoint is 10 degrees higher.

In general, the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries is steadily increasing the volume of processing of oil raw materials.
