Azerbaijan discloses volume of gas exported via Baku - Tbilisi - Erzurum

Azerbaijan exported 7.06 billion cubic meters of gas via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline from January through May 2021, which is by 44 percent more than in the same period of 2020, Trend reports on June 14 citing a report from the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee.

Some 48.3 percent of all gas transported by Azerbaijan accounted for the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline. This indicator increased by 11.8 percentage points during the year.

Some 14.6 billion cubic meters of gas were transported via the main pipelines of Azerbaijan from January through May 2021, which is by 8.9 percent more than in the same period of last year.

The length of the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline is over 700 kilometers. The gas, which is produced at the Shah Deniz gas condensate field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, is being transported via the pipeline. The gas is supplied via pipeline to Georgia and Turkey.
