Lukoil plans to allocate funds for joint projects with Uzbekistan

Lukoil plans to allocate more than $12 billion for joint projects with Uzbekistan, the head of the government of Russian Mikhail Mishustin said at the second meeting of the joint commission at the level of the heads of government of Russian and Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing the press service of Russian government.

Mishustin noted that Russian business makes a significant contribution to the development of the fuel and energy complex of Uzbekistan. It was noted that the mentioned amount of funds will be allocated in addition to the $8 billion already invested in the development of energy capacities.

The Russian prime minister also noted that Russia and Uzbekistan are discussing promising projects in the automotive industry, energy and pharmaceuticals.

“It seems to me that it is very important to strengthen our contacts, and specifically the contacts of business circles, to create conditions for establishing close ties,” he said.

Earlier it was also reported that UzAgroLogistics Centers, Russian Railways Logistics JSC and Russian Export Center JSC (REC) signed an agreement on cooperation in the development of the logistics corridor Russia - Uzbekistan and the transportation of agricultural export and import cargoes in accelerated refrigerated container trains Agroexpress.

According to the agreement, the first trial agroexpress (train with about 40 wagons) from Uzbekistan to Russia is planned to be launched in the fall of 2021. The same train will ensure the counter flow of imports from Russia to Uzbekistan
