Kazakhstan from January through June 2021 produced 36.2 million tons of crude oil (in 2020 - 73 million tons - 7.2 percent less than in 2019), Trend reports citing Energyprom.kz monitoring agency.
It is reported that the main volume of production fell on the Atyrau region - 23.4 million tons of oil, minus 6.6 percent per year, followed by Mangistau (8.2 million tons, minus 4.2 percent) and Aktobe (2.4 million tons, plus 0.4 percent) regions.
In 5M2021, 27 million tons of crude oil worth $10.5 billion were exported from Kazakhstan. The decrease in physical terms amounted to 11.7 percent, and in monetary terms - 24.1 percent at once.
It is noted that only 70,700 tons of oil worth $25.2 million were exported to the CIS countries this year. The main importers were Russia (35,100 tons) and Uzbekistan (35,700 tons).
Some 26.9 million tons of oil worth $10.5 billion were exported to non-CIS countries. Italy traditionally leads, importing 7.1 million tons - 10.1 percent less than a year earlier. Considerable volumes also went to the Netherlands (3.9 million tons) and France (2.3 million tons).
In May of this year, the cost of export deliveries of crude oil and crude oil products obtained from bituminous minerals increased 2.2 times per year and by 2.4 percent per month. In annual dynamics, the price of oil for the CIS countries increased by 3.7 times, while for the non-CIS countries - by 2.2 times.
Earlier it was reported that a third-generation plant will be launched in the Atyrau region in 2023, which will make it possible to produce an additional 12 million tons of oil per year.
