Kazakhstan aiming to export locally-made butadiene abroad

Butadiene, produced within the agreement between Kazakhstan’s KazMunayGas JSC and Russia’s Tatneft PJSC, will be exported to Russia, Europe, Turkey and China, Kazakh Minister of Energy Nurlan Nogayev said during the international practical conference in Tatarstan (Russia) dedicated to a new paradigm for the development of the fuel and energy complex within the EU decision on decarbonization, Trend reports on Aug. 31.

“There is a positive dynamics of development between Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation in one of the key sectors of the economy - the oil and gas chemical industry,” Nogayev said.

"The agreement on the basic terms of interaction on the production of butadiene and its derivatives signed this year between our biggest oil and gas companies KazMunayGas JSC and Tatneft PJSC testifies to this," Nogayev said.

The minister stressed that the amount of investments for this project will reach about $820 million while the expected completion date is 2026.
