Uzbekistan’s export of electrical products soars

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Sept. 22

By Fakhri Vakilov – Trend:

Uzbekistan exported electrical products worth $350 million to foreign countries rom January through August 2021, which is 1.3 times more than in a corresponding period of last year, Trend reports citing Uzeltekhsanoat Association of Electrotechnical Enterprises of Uzbekistan.

An increase in the supply of products was recorded with regards to Tajikistan (1.4 times), Kazakhstan (1.8 times), Georgia (1.9 times) and Russia (2 times). Moreover, electrical equipment started to be exported to Oman, Romania, Albania and Moldova.

According to Uzeltekhsanoat, it is planned to increase exports to $500 million by the end of the year. This result will be achieved thanks to an increase in exporting enterprises, bringing new products to markets, expanding the geography of exports, and establishing cooperation with large retail chains in neighboring countries.

In March 2021, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev adopted a decree on measures to develop the industry. The document provided for a number of tax incentives for enterprises, as well as subsidies to cover 50 percent of transport costs for exports.
