Azerbaijan increased imports of electricity in 10M2021 by 13.73 percent (15.8 million kilowatt-hours) compared to the same period last year - up to 130.8 million kilowatt-hours, Trend reports citing the Ministry of Energy.
According to the ministry, during the specified period, Azerbaijan imported 27.3 million kilowatt-hours of electricity from Iran, 78.9 million kilowatt-hours from Russia, and 24.6 million kilowatt-hours from Georgia.
It is noted that over 10 months of this year, electricity production in Azerbaijan increased by 1.554 million kilowatt-hours on an annualized basis - up to more than 22.8 billion kilowatt-hours.
In particular, thermal power plants (TPPs) generated more than 21.4 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, hydroelectric power plants (HPPs) - about 1.11 billion kilowatt-hours, wind power plants, solar power plants and a power plant for a solid waste disposal plant - 288.3 million kilowatt-hours hours.
