The revenues of the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC) should reach 700 trillion rials (about $16.7 billion), Executive Director of the company Jafar Rabee said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.
Meanwhile, in the last Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021), the company's revenue amounted to 450 trillion rials (about $10.7 billion), he said.
The director also added that in 2002, the company's revenues amounted to 32 trillion rials (about $762 million). This means that the company's revenues increased 15 times last Iranian year.
According to Rabee, the PGPIC plans to export $5 billion worth of products in the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
The director stressed that 50 percent of the money sold to banks in the country under the NIMA exchange rate for the first 9 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21) was accounted for petrochemical sector. About 40 percent of it belongs to the PGPIC.
Iran's Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industry Company is considered one of the main petrochemical companies in the country.
So, many companies, including, Jam Petrochemical Company, Kermanshah Petrochemical Company, Shiraz Petrochemical Company, Zagros Petrochemical Company, Persian Gulf Sadaf Petrochemical Company, Ilam Petrochemical Company, Urmia Petrochemical Company and others are operating under this company.
Within the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2021), Iran exported 42.4 million tons of petrochemical products worth $14.7 billion. Petrochemical enterprises have sold $9 billion of export earnings to Iranian banks under the NIMA exchange rate since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021).
