Georgia’s imports of petroleum and petroleum oils from Iran from January through December 2021 amounted to $1.5 million, which is an increase of 119.3 percent, compared to $683,800 over 2020, Trend reports via National Statistics Office (Geostat).
The volume of the exported petroleum and petroleum oils from Iran to Georgia over 2021 also increased by 153.5 percent – from 1,346 tons to 3,413 tons.
Georgia’s imports of petroleum and petroleum oils from Iran in December 2021 alone increased by 228 percent, compared to the same period of 2020 ($48,580), and by 23.5 percent, compared to November 2021 ($128,930), and totaled $159,350.
Thus, Iran ranked 9 among main exporters of petroleum and petroleum oils in terms of volumes of the product, and 15 – in terms of value, over 2021.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan ranked first on the list ($191.8 million), followed by Russia ($134.6 million), and Romania ($133.7 million).
Thus, Georgia’s total petroleum and petroleum oils imports amounted to $822.5 million – an increase of 64.9 percent, compared to $498.6 million in 2020.
