Iran to install new solar panel stations in Yazd Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 15

New solar panel stations, which will have a capacity to generate 200 megawatt-hours of electricity, will be built in the Yazd Province (central Iran) by the end of next Iranian year (March 20, 2023), Executive Director of Iran's Yazd Regional Electrical Company Abolfaz Asadi said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.

According to Asadi, the Yazd Province is one of the most suitable provinces of Iran for the installation of solar panel stations.

The director added that solar panel stations, which will have a capacity to generate 1,650 megawatt-hours of electricity are planned to be put into operation in Yazd Province over the next 4 years (March 20, 2026).

“Currently, the power generation capacity of solar panel stations in the province is 81.5 megawatt-hours,” he said.

The official emphasized that also, the construction of a combined cycle power plant with a capacity to generate 1,000 megawatt-hours of electricity in the Yazd Province will begin in the near future.
