BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 17. The total profit of international oil and gas companies operating in Azerbaijan notably grew in 2021, Trend reports referring to the payment balance data of the country's Central Bank (CBA).
According to the CBA, this figure amounted to $2.1 billion, up by 1.9 times (91 percent) on annual basis.
Last year, the payments to non-residents in Azerbaijan equaled $3.1 billion, which is 34.8 percent more than in 2020. The companies' incomes made up 67.7 percent of Azerbaijan's payments to non-residents.
Meanwhile, the volume of foreign direct investments in the Azerbaijani economy stood at $4.8 billion, growing by 6.7 percent compared to 2020.
At the same time, the share of the oil and gas sector in the investments made up 83.5 percent, which is 3.1 percent less on annual basis.
