BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 26. Kazakhstan will be forced to reduce gas exports due to increased domestic consumption, Kazakh Energy Minister Bolat Akchulakov said, Trend reports citing Kazakh media.

Akchulakov made the statement at the sidelines of governmental meeting.

He explained that due to a steady increase in domestic consumption and the fact that gas production output is not increasing, the country will therefore be required to reduce exports.

In his words, the Kazakh Government will be forced to raise gas prices due to a reduction in exports in 2024.

“We also expect that exports will near zero in 2024, that is, no export will be carried out at all,” the minister concluded.
