BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 12. Azerbaijan produced 15.7 billion cubic meters of gas from January through April 2022, as compared to 13.8 billion cubic meters in the same period in 2021, the country’s energy minister Parviz Shahbazov wrote on Twitter, Trend reports.

As such, the natural gas output in the country grew by 13.76 percent year-on-year.

Gas exports from Azerbaijan rose from 6.5 billion cubic meters in the first four months of 2021 to 7.6 billion cubic meters in the same period in 2022, showing a 16.9 percent increase year-on-year.

Azerbaijan’s gas exports to Europe began on December 31, 2020 with the commissioning of the Southern Gas Corridor comprising of the South Caucasus Pipeline Expansion, the Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) and the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP).
