BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 24. Kazakhstan’s Energy Ministry plans to prolong the ban on the export of petrochemicals from Kazakhstan by road, Minister Bolat Akchulakov said during a meeting with the population, Trend reports.

According to Akchulakov, certain measures are planned to be taken under the reforms in the fuel and lubricants market, including the adoption of an order to prolong the mentioned ban for six months.

This ban is likely to be in effect until the end of this year, and from 2023, the country will abandon this practice, he noted.

“We need to build the right market relations to prevent abuse of this by individual market participants,” the minister further said.

Besides, according to him, it’s planned to ensure transparency in the production and distribution of petrochemicals.

“This measure is planned to be implemented by excluding inefficient intermediaries, who have a high margin and simultaneously don’t have their own oil base, neither participate in the distribution of fuels and lubricants for remote regions and socially significant enterprises, from the market,” Akchulakov explained.

Another planned measure is the creation of reserves of petrochemicals for large consumers - on the basis of KazMunayGas company in the volume of 150,000 tons and on the basis of KTZ (Kazakhstan Railways) JSC - 50,000 tons, added the minister.
