BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov.15. Slovenia is working on securing gas supply from alternative sources, Bojan Kumer, the country's Minister of Infrastructure, said in an exclusive interview with Trend.

“We are living in uncertain and challenging times. The situation in Ukraine has forced us to re-consider our strategy to supply and consume gas. We have already enforced measures to lower gas consumption. Our gas supply remains steady and so far, we have not experienced any abrupt supply interruptions. That said, we are also working on securing gas supply from alternative sources,” he said.

Bojan Kumer went on to add that Slovenia has a robust and well inter-connected electricity grid that has recently undergone several upgrades, particularly in the field of smart grids.

“This resilience is proving vital this fall when despite of the fact that two thirds of our electricity production capacity is not operating due to pre-planned maintenance (nuclear) or saving reasons (lignite-fired TPP), we are experiencing no power outages,” he explained.
