BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 13. The foundation of a new plant of Iran’s Hemmat Petrochemical Company in Asaluyeh County of Bushehr Province (southern Iran) was laid, on December 13, 2022, Executive Director of the company Mohammad Ali Soleimani said, Trend reports referring to Shana News Agency.

“A total of 300 million euros will be spent on the construction of the mentioned plant. The mentioned funds will be provided by both local and foreign investors,” Soleimani noted.

The director added that the purpose of building the plant is to prevent the sale of raw ammonia and to prevent the release of products such as methane and carbon dioxide into the environment.

Soleimani also said that after the mentioned plant is launched, additional approximately 600,000 tons of ammonia and 830,000 tons of carbon dioxide produced by Pars, Sepehr, Pardis and other petrochemical companies will be delivered to the plant as raw materials.

According to him, this plant will produce 3,250 tons of urea granular daily and 1.07 million tons annually.

The official emphasized that one of the goals in the construction of this plant is to prevent the release of 670 million cubic meters of methane gas per year.
