Iran’s CBI sees increase in value of GDP in oil-gas sector

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 14. The value of the gross domestic product (GDP) in Iran’s oil-gas sector increased by 9.34 percent, during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through December 21, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, the value of GDP in the oil-gas sector for 9 months amounted to 958 trillion rials (about $22.8 billion).

Meanwhile, the figure stood at 876 trillion rials (about $20.8 billion) in the same period last Iranian year.

At the same time, the share of the oil-gas sector in Iran's GDP for nine months was 12.2 percent.

In total, the value of Iran’s GDP (including crude oil) amounted to approximately 11.6 quadrillion rials (about $275 billion) within the first 9 months of the current Iranian year, which is an increase of 3.72 percent compared to the same period last Iranian year.

So, the figure stood at about 11.2 quadrillion rials (about $266 billion) in the same period last Iranian year.

Both the Central Bank of Iran and the Statistical Center of Iran provide statistics on GDP in the country, however, there is always a difference in the figures.
