BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 27. The volume of sweet gas supplied from gas refineries to residential buildings, commercial and industrial facilities and power plants in Iran, increased by 2 percent, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Executive Director of Iranian Gas Transmission Company, Gholam Abbas Hosseini said, Trend reports citing Shana News Agency.

The director noted that approximately 274 billion cubic meters of sweet gas were supplied from Iran’s gas refineries to residential, commercial and industrial facilities and power plants in the country.

“Meanwhile, the figure stood at 268 billion cubic meters in the preceding Iranian year,” he added.

According to Hosseini, the highest daily gas supply in the country was recorded on February 10, 2023. So, more than 858 million cubic meters of gas were supplied that day.

Iranian Gas Transmission Company is mainly engaged in transporting or swapping natural gas, ethane, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and gas condensate within the country.

The company has 10 operational zones in ten provinces of Iran. The company has more than 38,000 km of pipelines, 88 gas pressure stations, and 9 gas export-import terminals, and can transport more than 280 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
