BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 28. The diesel production of Iran’s Esfahan Oil Refining Company (EORC) will grow by 16 million liters per day with a new plant starts operating on September 29, 2023, Trend reports.
According to the company’s report, new plant will be launched on the mentioned date with the participation of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and other officials.
Reportedly, a total of 511 million euros and 67.8 trillion rials (about $1.61 billion) were spent on the plant. About 80 percent of the plant's equipment and supplies were produced by local manufacturers.
The new plant of Esfahan Oil Refining Company will produce diesel that meets the Euro 5 standard, which has a low sulfur content of 10 PPM.
Iran's Esfahan Oil Refining Company (EORC) was established in 1979. The company can process about 375,000 barrels of crude oil per day. At present, the company supplies about 25 percent of the country's fuel needs.
Also, the company produces 12 million liters of gasoline and approximately 20 million liters of diesel per day in accordance with the Euro 5 standards.
