BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 11. SOCAR Polymer of Azerbaijan recorded a 63 percent increase in the value of its product exports from January to October 2023 as compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.
The data from the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications of Azerbaijan showed that the company's exports amounted to $231.6 million during the reporting period of 2023, which is $85.3 million more than in the same period of 2022.
SOCAR Polymer ranks third among state-owned enterprises in terms of the value of non-oil products exported.
SOCAR Polymer is a major investor in the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park, where it manufactures polypropylene and polyethylene. The enterprise's products are currently sold to over ten countries under the Made in Azerbaijan trademark (China, Poland, Nigeria, Romania, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine).
For the first time, the company began exporting the brand's polypropylene to Peru. At the start, 90 tons of polypropylene were shipped.
