BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 16. Iran has spent 272 trillion rials (about $6.48 billion) on water and electricity projects in 117 villages in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, located in the south-west of the country, Trend reports.

The largest and most expensive project was the Baba Heydar dam, which took 14 years to build and was finally put into operation. The dam and its pipelines will provide water to the villages that suffer from water scarcity, especially in the dry season. The dam will also help with irrigation, flood control, and power generation.

Another project was the renovation and expansion of electricity lines, which eliminated various defects and supplied electricity to villages that lacked it. The project will improve the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the electricity network in the province. The project will also enable the use of electric appliances, devices, and machines that can enhance the quality of life, health, education, and economic opportunities for the rural population.

Additionally, 650 solar panels were delivered to nomads living in the province, enabling them to use renewable energy. The solar panels will provide electricity for lighting, heating, cooling, and communication. The solar panels will also reduce the dependence on fossil fuels, which are costly, polluting, and unsustainable.

The projects are part of Iran’s efforts to develop its rural and nomadic areas, which face many challenges such as poverty, migration, and environmental degradation. The government hopes that by providing water and electricity, it can improve the living conditions and well-being of the people living in these areas.
