Azerbaijan's AzerGold CJSC expands utilization of innovative technologies in geological exploration

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 1. One of the main directions of activity of AzerGold Closed Joint Stock Company (CJSC) is geological exploration works and following CJSC's geological exploration strategy for 2023-2024, the Joint Stock Company has conducted active geophysical and geological exploration works in 2023 in Dashkasan, Goygol, Balaken, Kalbajar districts, as well as in Julfa district of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Trend reports.

Prospecting and appraisal works to identify promising ore-forming zones in the research areas are planned to continue in 2024.

In addition, by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 22, 2023, "AzerGold" CJSC, based on the state order, was entrusted to perform a part of general geological exploration works in the country during 2023-2024.

Accordingly, research areas were expanded in the Dashkasan, Goygol, and Kalbajar districts, as well as in the Julfa district of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Besides, it is planned to conduct geological research in Goranboy, Ordubad, and Shahbuz districts. Since 2024, a wide introduction of innovative technologies will be launched to obtain preliminary results of research in these territories in the shortest possible time. Within the framework of the research, non-invasive hyperspectral satellite imagery, as well as aeroelectromagnetic surveys using helicopters and drones will be continued this year. These methods will make it possible to identify promising areas of study for the next stage of prospecting and appraisal work on the surface, thereby allowing costly drilling operations to be carried out at coordinates covering a smaller area.
