BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 27. Azerbaijan exported 82,400 tons of methanol from January through February 2024, which is 10 percent more than January through February 2023, the data of the State Customs Committee said, Trend reports.
The country's revenue from methanol exports since the beginning of the year amounted to $15.7 million, which is 0.5 percent less than from January through February 2023 (global methanol prices were higher last year).
The share of methanol in the total volume of exports out of Azerbaijan from January through February 2024 amounted to 0.33 percent, while in the volume of non-oil exports it amounted to 3.45 percent.
Meanwhile, SOCAR Methanol LLC produced almost 95,000 tons of methanol in two months in 2024, which is twice as much as the same period in 2023.
However, this LLC (part of SOCAR) produced 494,600 tons of methanol in 2023 (down 7.5 percent).
