CDC completes drilling fourth well on Shah-Daniz

The Azerbaijani-US JV Caspian Drilling Company has completed drilling the fourth pre-drilling well on Shah-Deniz field in the Azerbaijani section of the Caspian Sea, BP, an operator of the project, told Trend. The depth of the well is 6189 meters.

According to an official of the company, at present carotage and adjacent work are underway and they are scheduled to complete till January 2006.

The drilling work was carried out by Istiglal, which belongs to CDC.

On 4 August BP (a operator of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli, Shah-Deniz and Inam fields) announced on signing of a new $250m contract with Global Santa Fe (GSF), a partner Caspian Drilling Company joint venture between BP and SOCAR, on delivery of lease of Istiglal and Dada Gorgud drilling to rigs for well drilling in the Azerbaijani section of the Caspian Sea.
