AIOC to continue oil transportation through Baku- Novorossisk by end of year

Azerbaijan International Operation Company (AIOC) intends to transport oil through Baku- Novorossisk by the end of this year,Trend has been told in BP Azerbaijan operator of AIOC. This pipeline will be used until Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline works in a stable regime.

According to the information received from the Ministry of Industry and Energy of Azerbaijan, AIOC is the operation of Baku- Novorossisk pipeline, and therefore, may transport its oil through this pipeline at any time.

At the moment, approximately 14 thousand tons of oil is shipped through Baku- Novorossisk a day. Nearly 11 th. tons out of this volume is reported at the share of the own oil of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR). The remaining volume 1-4 th. t. is exported by AIOC.

Over the period of January-July 2006, AIOC, which exploits Azeri-Chirag-Cunashli marine block, has exported 10.663 million tons of Azeri Light oil in different directions, which exceeds the figure of last year by 5.542 tons.

According to the information obtained from AIOC, over the period of January-July, 2.307 mln tons of oil were transported through Baku- Novorossisk, against 1.119 th. in January-July 2005.

In July 2006, AIOC exported 2.32 mln tons of oil, against 880.943 th. in July 2005. In July 2006, 299.574 th. tons of oil have been transported through Baku- Novorossisk, against 78.092 th. in July 2005.
