Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / The Heydar Aliyev Oil Refining Plant (former Azneftyanajag) produced 27,680t of oil coke from January to July 2007. It was not planned to produce oil coke this year. However, it was produced in small parts in January and February, according to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR). The production was suspended in March and resumed again in April.
Production of oil coke in Azerbaijan between January and July is less than in the same period of 2006 by 15,610t (36.1%).
The total of the coke produced in 2006 totalled 67,240t, in 2005 oil coke was not produced at the enterprise. The major consumer of Azerbaijani coke is Russia which uses it for its aluminium plants.
