Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. I.Khalilova / Azerbaijan is planning to construct 30 wind electricity stations with a 60 kilowatt capacity in Gobustan, Ramiz Rzayev, the head of the Investment Policy and Reconstruction of Industry Enterprises Department at the Industry and Energy Ministry, said.
Initially ten stations each with a 2 kilowatt capacity will be constructed in Gobustan. The Industry and Energy Ministry was submitted a draft feasibility study in compliance with the Memorandum on mutual understanding on the construction of private Independent Power Plants with the Korean companies KEPKO and STX in April. A presentation of the draft was held recently.
"We will complete the study of the draft by 15 September and submit it to the President," Rzayev said. The fee for the draft is $40mln.
The Korean companies require custom and tax privileges due to the use of alternative sources of energy, Rzayev said.
The wind energy stations will be constructed in Azerbaijan with 100% private foreign investment.
