Uzbekistan's banking sector leaders revealed

By Dec. 1, 2018, the assets of Uzbekistan’s commercial banks increased by 25.3 percent and amounted to 207.62 trillion soums, Trend reports on Dec. 24 referring to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.

The credits volume of banks in Uzbekistan increased by 48.2 percent and amounted to 161.02 trillion soums. The deposits volume exceeded 69.12 trillion soums, which is 17.8 percent more than a year before.

The total capital of commercial banks in Uzbekistan grew by 30.2 percent and reached 26.02 trillion soums.

The National Bank of Uzbekistan (56.07 trillion soums or 27 percent of all assets of the banking sector of Uzbekistan), O’zsanoatqurilishbank (29.3 trillion soums or 14.1 percent) and Asaka Bank (29.04 trillion soums or 14 percent) became the leaders in terms of assets.

The same banks were leading in terms of credits. The National Bank of Uzbekistan provided loans for 44.96 trillion soums (27.9 percent of the total), O’zsanoatqurilishbank - for 26.52 trillion soums (16.5 percent) and Asaka Bank – for 23.74 trillion soums (14.7 percent).

The National Bank of Uzbekistan (12.84 trillion soums or 18.6 percent of the total), Asaka Bank (6.56 trillion soums or 9.5 percent) and O’zsanoatqurilishbank (4.46 trillion soums or 6.5 percent) are in the top-three leaders in terms of deposits.

The leaders in terms of capital also included the National Bank of Uzbekistan (5.7 trillion soums or 21.9 percent of the total), Asaka Bank (3.1 trillion soums or 11.9 percent) and O’zsanoatqurilishbank (2.6 trillion soums or 10 percent).
