The volume of bank deposits of the population of Uzbekistan in the first quarter exceeded 15.8 trillion soums ($ 1,875,776,000) and increased by 8.1 percent, Trend reports with reference to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.
Deposits in national currency increased by 10.3 percent up to 9.8 trillion soums. The balance of foreign currency deposits increased by 4.7 percent and reached 6.07 trillion soums.
The ratio of the shares of deposits in national and foreign currencies was 62 percent and 38 percent, respectively.
In 2018 statistics, the volume of population deposits in banks increased by 21.2 percent and amounted to 14.7 trillion soums. Deposits in national currency increased by 38.2 percent, and their share increased from 53 percent to 61 percent.
