The value of foreign currency purchase in exchange offices of Kazakhsran in May 2019 amounted to 280.4 billion tenge ($740.8 million), which is almost 160 billion tenge more than in May 2018, Trend reports with reference to LS news agency.
“The value of purchase of US dollar in Kazakhstan amounted yo 189.7 billion tenge in May 2019,” the report said.
The largest amount (68.4 billion tenge) of US dollar was purchased in Almaty city. It is followed by Shymkent city with indicator of 26.8 billion tenge.
The least amount of US dollar was purchased in Turkestan region with indicator of 1.1 billion tenge.
In turn, the value of purchased euro by Kazakhs equaled to 31.7 billion tenge.
The largest amount of euro was also purchased in Almaty (14.4 billion tenge). The second largest volume accounts for Nur-Sultan city (five billion tenge).
The value of purchase of Russian rubles stood at 59.01 billion tenge.
The largest amount (10.1 billion tenge) of Russian rubles was purchased in East Kazakhstan region. It is followed by Pavlodar region with the indicator of 6.4 billion tenge. The least amount (161.8 million tenge) of Russian rubles was purchased in Shymkent city.
Furthermore, the value of purchased yuan amounted to nearly 41 million tenge. The largest amount of purchased yuan accounts for Almaty (22 million tenge) and Nur-Sultan city (11.3 million tenge).
