Commercial banks in Georgia increase giving out loans

The volume of loans issued by commercial banks (excluding interbank loans) increased by 1.068 million lari (3.87 percent) compared with the previous month (2.16 percent without the influence of the exchange rate), Trend reports with reference to the National Bank of Georgia.

Over the same period, the volume of loans issued in national currency increased by 418.98 million lari (3.50 percent), while the volume of loans in foreign currency increased by 649.58 million lari (4.15 percent).

The volume of lending to resident households for June 2019 increased by 2.19 percent, or 318.75 million lari, and as of July 1 of 2019 amounted to 14.89 billion lari.

As of July 1 of 2019, the total lending rate amounted to 43.17 percent. Compared to June 1, 2019, total lending decreased by 0.15 percentage points (excluding the impact of the exchange rate by 0.57 percentage points).
