Volume of transactions in corporate securities reach over $1.2B

The total volume of transactions in corporate securities amounted to over 1.9 billion manat (over $1.1 billion) in Azerbaijan from January through September 2019, Trend reports referring to the data of Azerbaijan’s Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FIMSA).

At the same time, the volume of transactions in corporate securities amounted to over 1.9 billion manat (over $1.1 billion) from January through September 2018. As a result, the growth in the total volume of transactions from January through September amounted to 0.9 percent.

Among the operations, 242 transactions amounting to 999 million manat ($587 million) were made in the primary market (volume decreased by 16.3 percent).

Some 2,127 operations with a total volume of 914.3 million manat ($537.8 million) accounted for the secondary market. The share of these operations amounted to 48 percent of the total volume and 90 percent of the total number of transactions in corporate securities.

The repo transactions in securities amounted to 842.9 million manat ($495.8 million) (an increase of 54.5 percent). In total, 424 REPO transactions were concluded from January through September 2019, which is 126 transactions more than from January through September 2018.
