Bulk of Azerbaijani Kapital Bank's deposits accounts for legal entities

The leading Azerbaijani bank, Kapital Bank OJSC, increased its total liabilities by 23.7 percent in the first quarter of this year compared to March 1, 2019, Trend reports referring to the bank’s balance sheet.

The total liabilities increased by 481 million manat ($282.9 million), and reached 3.6 billion manat ($2.1 billion).

A significant part (84.5 percent) in the structure of liabilities accounts for deposits, the volume of which increased by 22.5 percent, up to 3.3 billion manat ($1.9 billion). At the same time, the bulk of deposits, over 70 percent, accounted for deposits of legal entities in the amount of 2.3 billion manat ($1.3 billion), which is increase by 31.2 percent. The volume of deposits of individuals made up 979.2 million manat ($576 million), less than 30 percent, and the growth made up 5.7 percent compared to the first quarter of 2019.

Liabilities to credit and other financial organizations amounted to 320.5 million manat ($188.5 million), growing by 44.9 percent. The amount of deferred tax liabilities made up 25.1 million manat ($14.8 million), increasing by 9.6 percent.

The Central Bank of Azerbaijan’s claims made up 2.1 million manat ($1.2 million), which is 4.3 times more compared to the first quarter of 2019. Other liabilities amounted to 247.8 million manat ($145.7 million), increase by 13.8 percent.

According to the sheet, the bank stock has not changed in annual terms and amounted to 225.8 billion manat ($132.8 billion). Retained earnings of the bank amounted to 238.2 million manat ($140.1 million), which is 41.9 percent more compared to 2019. Total reserves amounted to 35.3 million manat ($20.8 million), growing by 31.2 percent.

The total capital of the bank amounted to 500.2 million manat ($294.2 million), increasing by 18.7 percent.
