Apple has announced the upcoming price changes in the App Store in Uzbekistan, Trend reports with reference to the Uzbek media.
"In the next few days, App Store application prices and App purchases (except for automatic subscriptions) will change in Barbados, Moldova and Uzbekistan due to value added taxes," the company announced.
The company also contacted application developers and announced that their revenue will be adjusted and calculated based on the tax-free price.
This may be related to the "tax on Google", which is introduced in the country since January 1, 2020. The novelty obliges foreign companies that provide online services to consumers in Uzbekistan to pay 15 percent VAT. Such services include granting rights to software, online commerce, advertising, etc.
In February, the State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan created a special website tax.uz, through which internet corporations must apply for registration as a taxpayer.
As for Apple, it is reported that the company has filed an application, but it has not yet been registered.
