GDP per capita in Uzbekistan decreases

GDP per capita in the first quarter of 2020 made up 3.2 million soum ($341), Trend reports citing the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

Compared to the period from January through March 2019, the index increased by two percent in real terms. GDP growth rates per capita in the period from January through March 2018 and 2019 were 3.9 percent and 3.8 percent respectively.

GDP per capita of Uzbekistan amounted to $1,741 in 2019 and $1,533 in 2018.

In the period from January through March 2020, GDP growth in Uzbekistan slowed to 4.1 percent compared to the same period of 2019 (5.7 percent) and 2018 (5.6 percent).

GDP per capita is determined by dividing its total volume in current prices by the average size of the country's population over a certain period of time. Average number of resident population of Uzbekistan was 32.7 million in the first quarter of 2018, 33.3 million in same period of 2019 and 33.9 million in the first quarter 2020.
