During the quarantine period, the amount of VAT refund for enterprises applying zero rate of VAT on export of goods made up 611.6 billion soum ($60.1 million), Trend reports citing the State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan.
The State Tax Committee has greatly simplified the procedure for reimbursement of the amount of VAT excess resulting from the application of zero rate for export of goods, the report said.
As of June 1, 804 applications were considered including 194 from Tashkent, 102 from Tashkent region, 86 from Andijan region, 81 from Namangan region, 73 from Bukhara region, and 34 from Uzbekistan's Karakalpakstan Autonomous Republic.
The Ministry of Finance received 336 applications for the total amount of 611.6 billion soum ($60.1 million), the committee said. Unjustified reduction of VAT refund was found in 147 applications.
Starting July 1, 2020, the tax authorities will refund VAT not only to exporters, but also to other VAT payers.
