The Сaucasus Nature Fund (CNF) will allocate 120,000 euros to finance Georgia's Machakhela National Park, Trend reports via Georgia's Agency of Protected Areas.

A corresponding agreement was reached between the Agency of Protected Areas and the CNF on June 16.

Machakhela National Park was established in 2012. It is located 30 kilometers away from Georgia's Black Sea town of Batumi.

The administration of the national park will receive 120,000 euros in financial and technical support over the next three years.

"The financing will be used to improve the working conditions of the employees of the park administration, increase managerial efficiency and motivation of employees, including increasing salaries,” says the Agency of Protected Areas.

Meanwhile, protected areas of Georgia started hosting visitors from June 15.

By providing long-term support and management assistance for the protected areas of Caucasian region, CNF seeks to preserve unique flora, fauna and ecosystems of the region while at the same time improving the living conditions of the local population.
