BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 24

By Jeila Aliyeva - Trend:

Turkmen Rysgal bank has introduced payment via a mobile QR code system, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmenpontal information portal.

Payment using a QR code is a new type of digital remote banking services for Turkmenistan.

Thus, the introduction of this service will improve the quality of services provided to private businesses and other industries, improve the operation of the country's payment and settlement system, and will also contribute to the activation of processes related to the digitalization of the economy of Turkmenistan.

A QR code is a two-dimensional barcode (or bar code) that provides information for quick recognition by scanning with a smartphone or tablet camera.

As it was reported earlier, the work is underway to introduce digital technologies into Turkmenistan’s banking sector.

The introduction of digital technologies into the banking sector of the country will expand the range of banking services and the capabilities of the national payment system provided to customers, as well as increase the competitiveness of credit institutions.

In general, the country's financial sector is constantly expanding. In particular, mobile applications are being introduced to pay for various services and goods, the number of non-cash payments is increasing, and payment for goods and services is being implemented through banking terminals.
