Uzbekistan’s 9M2020 volume of financial services revealed

The share of financial services in the total volume of services in Uzbekistan from January through September reached 21.5 percent, amounting to 33.71 trillion soums ($3.25 billion), Trend reports citing State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

The introduction of innovative banking technologies to create conditions for the provision of modern banking services, including the organization of the activities of digital banks and their divisions specializing in the provision of retail services, the improvement of remote banking services, the further development of the payment system, contribute to the dynamic development of financial services.

During the surveyed period the volume of financial services in Tashkent city increased by 4.53 trillion soums ($437 million) and reached 18.09 trillion soums ($1.74 billion) compared to other regions of Uzbekistan.

At the same time, an increase in the volume was noted in Fergana (by $52.4 million), Tashkent region (by $44.3 million), Andijan (by $39 million), Samarkand (by $38 million), Bukhara (by $36.3 million) and Surkhandarya (by $31.7 million) regions.

The share of financial services, except for insurance and pension services, accounts for 91.3 percent of their total volume.

Over the past period, the share of insurance services was recorded in the range of 5.3 percent. Services auxiliary to financial and insurance services accounted for only 3.4 percent of the total volume of financial services.

The share of financial services, except for insurance and pension services, was significant in Surkhandarya (95.2 percent), Syrdarya (94.7 percent), Fergana (94.1 percent), Jizzakh (93.8 percent), Navoi (92.8 percent) regions and Karakalpakstan Republic (94.7 percent).

The lowest rate was recorded in Andijan (86.9 percent) and Tashkent (90.4 percent) regions.

Among the regions in the structure of financial services, the volume of insurance services prevails in Tashkent (7.7 percent), Namangan (6.3 percent), Navoi (6.1 percent), Bukhara (5.3 percent) regions and Tashkent city (5.6 percent).

The lowest indicator for insurance services was noted in Andijan (3.4 percent), Surkhandarya (3.8 percent), Samarkand, Syrdarya (4.0 percent) regions, as well as in the Karakalpakstan Republic (3.9 percent).

The volume of market services provided in Uzbekistan from January through September 2020 reached 157.08 trillion soums ($15.1 billion), and the nominal volume increased by 16.12 trillion soums ($1.55 billion).
