Iranian banks have been instructed to issue loans worth 4.14 trillion rials (about $98.5 million) for purchasing agricultural machinery in the East Azerbaijan Province (southwestern Iran) from the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020) to November 5, the Deputy Director for Agriculture Department of East Azerbaijan Province, Mohsen Ghahramannejad told reporters, Trend reports citing IRNA.
The deputy director noted this machinery is in the area of cultivation, horticulture, cattle-breeding, poultry and fishing.
“Thus, 870 billion rials (about $20.7 million) worth of loans have been issued to purchase of 515 tractors, 11 combine harvesters and 729 trailers,” he added.
Ghahramannejad stressed that 1.13 trillion rials (about $26.9 million) worth of loans were attracted in Iran's East Azerbaijan Province during the first six months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through September 21, 2020).
This figure is planned to reach 1.3 trillion rials (about $30.9 million) by the end of the current Iranian year.
