The National Bank of Kazakhstan (NBK) allocated an additional 200 billion tenge ($480 million) for the further implementation of the Program to support entrepreneurs, affected by the state of emergency, by a decision of October 27, 2020, through instructions of the country’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Trend reports referring to the bank.
Moreover, coverage of the program was expanded for large enterprises and entrepreneurs operating in the agro-industrial complex. The program’s term has been extended until December 31, 2021, and the term for the disbursement of allocations - up to March 31, 2021.
For lending to large enterprises, a list of types of activities in the processing industry and service sector affected by the introduction of the state of emergency was determined and approved by a joint order of the NBK’s chairman and the national economy minister dated November 18, 2020.
Based on the analysis of the efficiency of funds disbursement, on November 30, 2020, by a joint order of the bank’s chairman and the chairman of the Agency for the Financial Market Regulation and Development, the financing limits for second-tier banks were determined. The new limits were set taking into account the additionally allocated 200 billion tenge.
