Iran's economic development declines

The value of Iran's gross domestic product (GDP) increased by -1.2 percent (including crude oil), by -1 percent (excluding crude oil) during the first 9 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through December 20, 2020) compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports referring to the Statistical Center of Iran.

According to the statistics, the value of the Iran’s gross domestic product, including crude oil, was 5.23 quadrillion rials (about $124 billion) in 9 months, while excluding crude oil was 4.54 quadrillion rials (about $108 billion) according to the stable prices in 2011.

“In addition, the value of Iran's gross domestic product (GDP) in agriculture sector increased by 3 percent to 399 trillion rials (about $9.5 billion),” the statistics said.

The value of the GDP in the mining and industrial sector (including crude oil) increased by 0.8 percent to 2.08 quadrillion rials (about $49.6 billion). However, the value of GDP, excluding crude oil, increased by 2.5 percent to 1.4 quadrillion rials (about $33.3 billion), the statistics said.

According to the statistics, the value of the GDP on oil and gas extraction increased by -2.4 percent to 685 trillion rials (about $16.3 billion). The value of GDP on other mines increased by 1.4 percent to 76.6 trillion rials (about $1.82 billion). While in the industrial sector, the value of the GDP increased by 0.8 percent to 674 trillion rials (about $16 billion).

“Moreover, the value of Iran’s gross domestic product (GDP) in the services sector decreased by 3.3 percent to 2.72 trillion rials (about $64.9 billion) over the 9 months,” the statistics said.
